Making Dahlia Flower out of Gumpaste or Cold Porcelain is not hard. This tutorial will show you how to do it step by step, you can make your Dahlia flower out of sugar or Cold Porcelain, as using both mediums is explained throughout.

MATERIALS and EQUIPMENT...( for both using Gumpaste and Cold Porcelain )

Gumpaste , Veg. margarine (for moisturising paste)
Cold Porcelain ( self-made tinted white , see link above or Modena etc) tinted yellow
Green board or plastic sleeve / Petal Base / Corn Flour duster
Wire no 33 or thinner and 20; tacky glue like PVA / Sugar Glue / flower tape, small pliers, drying foam

DUSTS
I ended up using light yellow colour dust by Sugarflair, Sunflower, Cerise or Pink Geranium by Edable art , Petal Rose by Sunflower sugar art for a bit of a shading at the base of the stem and and Magenta by Sunflower sugar art for highlighing at the end.

Dusting brushes

You CAN steam COLD PORCELAIN TO keep the dusts in place
