*Details of the Arrest/Police Encounter*
On 05.10.2025, information was received through an informant that two car thieves, members of an interstate gang, who had stolen an Alto 800 car from the Link Road Police Station area about ten days ago, were arrested in the industrial area site. They were going to come from the direction of Road No. 04 with two stolen vehicles and their accomplices to park them at a safe place and they also had illegal weapons. Believing this information, the police started intensive checking by setting up a barrier near Surya Nagar railway bridge. After some time, two vehicles were seen coming together. When signaled to stop, both vehicles did not stop and started running towards Surya Nagar outpost at a high speed, hitting the barriers. When the police party chased them, the driver of the car in the rear vehicle opened fire targeting the policemen. In the same sequence, while chasing, the driver of the rear vehicle got down from his vehicle and fired again with the weapon towards the policemen with the intention of killing them. In the retaliatory action taken by the police team in self-defense, the criminal Anil Kumar, son of Chandrapal Singh, resident of village Jawan Sikandarpur, police station Jawan, district Aligarh, age about 36 years, was shot in the leg. Due to this, the criminal got injured. Both criminals were arrested at the scene. The injured criminal was immediately transported to the district hospital for treatment. Necessary legal action is being taken.
*Interrogation Details*
The two arrested accused revealed during interrogation that they, along with another accomplice, Anil Bhushan, a resident of Faridabad, and Baljeet Singh alias Bobby, a resident of Vikaspuri, Delhi, steal four-wheelers from the Delhi NCR region. After stealing them, we attach fake number plates to the stolen vehicles and tamper with the engine and chassis numbers. Our partner, Baljeet Singh alias Bobby, sells the stolen vehicles, and we scrap some of the stolen vehicles. In this context, accused Anil alias Maharaj, son of Rampal, stated during interrogation that the two vehicles recovered from them were a white Swift car driven by my friend, Anil Kumar, son of Chandrapal Singh. We stole this car from Delhi about 12 days ago, and the other car was a red Brezza, which I was driving. We stole this car from Faridabad, Haryana about 8 days ago. We also stole a white Alto 800 from the Rampuri Suryanagar area about 10-11 days ago, which we had removed. We have kept the number plate of this car in the trunk of the Swift car. We also stole an i-10 from Vasant Kunj, Delhi about 12 days ago, and the three of us stole a Swift car from Jalesar Road, Firozabad. We sold it to a scrap dealer named Kale in Aligarh for 45,000 rupees. We divided the proceeds among ourselves.
