Priti Patel, gesture politics, PM Modi's photo: How UK Parliament discussed racist attacks
The racist attacks on some English football players including Marcus Rashford figured in the UK Parliament during the Prime Minister's Questions, when Labour Party sought to attack Boris Johnson's Home Secretary Priti Patel. Johnson, however, defended his home secretary and said she has done a lot to increase the representation of minority communities in the police force. PM Narendra Modi too briefly made an appearance in the debate, when Johnson showed a pamphlet of the Labour Party in which a photo of Johnson-Modi meet was used in a way to ask Muslims to vote against the Conservative Party. Johnson asked the Labour Party leader to withdraw the pamphlet, although Keir Starmer sidestepped the issue.
