How to Handle Power Creep Perfectly | Avatar The Last Airbender & Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 3

Today at the Mystery Shack, we embark on a 2-part mini series where I examine power progression and the escalation of odds in a few different franchises. In the first part of this duo, we’ll be looking at 2 shows that, in my opinion, perfectly balance tension with constant feeling of power progression, those being Avatar The Last Airbender and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, specifically part 3 – Stardust Crusaders and Battle in Egypt. In these shows, it always feel like there are very serious odds, yet we still have the payoff is seeing our characters overcome the challenge, so we try to understand why some shows somehow lose this feeling along the way.
