In this series I plan to read through Osho's illuminating translation of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. Osho's deep, unique insights into yoga and human psychology brings great supplementary reading into what Patanjali's sutras are all about.

It should be noted that this book is intended as supplementary meditative reading on the nature of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. Students and apprentices on the path of Kriya Yoga would do well to remember that this is only intended as extra-reading, and should be considered to be a replacement for the writings of more serious and direct authors such as those of my own teacher, Ryan Kurczak.

Ryan Kurczak has himself co-authored (along with his teacher and guru, Mr Roy Eugene Davis) their own version of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali entitled "Kriya Yoga: Continuing the lineage of Enlightenment." It is a serious book which ought to be combined with the direct teachings of a disciple of the Self-Realization lineage such as Ryan himself, or any ordained teacher in the ministry, as Kriya yoga is such an energy-based path with techniques that cannot be conveyed merely by reading text alone.

As a Kriya Yoga apprentice I am aware of how important Patanjali's sutras are on the path of Self-Realization. Osho's book brings great clarity especially to the path of Self-inquiry, and absorption into the subject who is preparing to apply the techniques given on the path of Kriya yoga and self-realization. Osho's insights are useful, unique and innovative, and that is why I have created this entertaining and informative series.
