Rory Cellan-Jones talks about his book "Always On: Hope and Fear in the Social Smartphone Era" and discusses both the positive and negative aspects of the smartphone and its effects on our lives.

Rory Cellan-Jones was the BBC Technology correspondent for 15 years. He started his career as a researcher on the BBC programme Look North. He progressed to becoming business and economics correspondent, appearing on The Money Programme. In his role of BBC technology correspondent, he had the job of expanding the BBC's coverage of new media. He has written "The Rise and Fall of Dot.com Britain". His latest book is "Always On: Hope and Fear in the Social Smartphone Era" (Bloomsbury Continuum, 2021)
