DUAL MONO Compression Channel HACKS in CUBASE
In today’s video I share with you a couple of hacks (or workarounds) to create a Dual Mono Channel in Cubase
.
What is a “Dual Mono” Channel? It’s basically a Stereo Channel where the Left and Right Side are independent from each other.
For example, If I insert a Compressor on my Mix Buss, the compressor will compress the full Stereo Field equally, but if the Compressor has a Dual Mono feature, the compressor will compress each side separately like if each side had its own compressor.
Some DAWs like Pro Tools and Logic will support Dual Mono on tħeir Channels so a Plugin that doesn’t have a “Dual Mono” feature can also benefit of that feature through the DAW if supported by the plugin.
Unfortunately Cubase doesn’t support “Dual Mono” on its channels the same way Pro Tools and Logic does. So the only way to use “Dual Mono” in Cubase is to work with a plugin that has “Dual Mono” as a feature or to follow my workarounds to create a “Dual Mono” channel in CUBASE 10.5
***The use of a VCA Fader is not mandatory in Option#1, you can also just "LINK" the volume of those 2 channels together and that will do the trick as well.
