Volcanic rock fields, ice-capped peaks, gushing gizers and barren, wind-swept landscapes. Iceland certainly lives up to its billing as the Land of Fire and Ice, and it’s little wonder it’s one of the go-to locations for film or TV directors looking to replicate an alien planet or a mythical kingdom.

And you might recognise this frozen, desolate backdrop behind me from beyond the wall in Game of Thrones.

But we’re here to film something strictly non-fictional – a new Land Rover that should be well suited to such inhospitable terrain.
