Rotary Sifters with Tapping have reliable, proven designs for efficient separations, and accommodate stacks up to 26in (660mm). Rotary Sifters are preferred by some state DOT’s for particle sizing of mineral aggregates. Sieve stacks are placed against a vertical set of drive rollers and the cabinet is tilted back for operation. No clamping is required. Sieves rotate as multiple hammers tap against them to promote particle passage. Enclosed cabinets isolate moving parts for safety to control dust and noise levels. We offer a variety of Rotary Sifters with Tapping, ranging from traditional to Gilson-enhanced models.
This is a demonstration on how to replace the upper and lower drive belts on the Gilson Rotary Sifters.
Unplug the unit from any power source.
Now remove the eight hex bolts on both sides of the top panel of the sifter. Four on each side.
Remove the two screws above the controller on the front panel, and remove the top panel.
Next remove the top panel.
Now slide the back panel up and out. Note the location of the serial number sticker for reference later.
-If the upper v-belt is broken, remove it. With the upper belt gone, remove any debris within the case and around the pulleys. Place the new v-belt (new orange belt - use only Gilson authorized products) around the 3 smaller pulleys and then walk the belt around and onto the larger pulley until the belt fully seats in the grooved track.
-If replacing a worn upper v-belt, place a screwdriver between the upper belt and the large pulley. Rotate the large pulley and walk the belt off the large pulley until it is free. Remove the worn belt. With the upper v-belt gone, remove any debris within the case and around the pulleys. Now place the new belt (new orange belt - use only Gilson authorized products) around the 3 smaller pulleys and then walk the belt around and onto the larger pulley until the belt fully seats in the grooved track.
-If replacing the lower v-belt, walk the lower belt off the larger pulley next to the motor, now place the new belt (use only Gilson authorized products) around the smaller pulley on the motor shaft and walk the new belt onto the larger pulley until the belt is fully seats in the grooved track.
Now return the back panel to the unit by sliding the panel within the grooves on the rear of the unit. Note that the location of the serial number sticker should be in the same location as during removal.
Place the top panel on the sifter with the screw openings toward the front of the unit.
Fasten the eight hex bolts in to both sides of the top platform of the sifter.
Finally fasten the two screws from the front panel.
