Medical Entrepreneur Durga Prasai Released on Bail

Jhapa-based medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai has been released on bail, according to the Central Cyber Bureau. SP Dipak Raj Awasthi stated that Prasai was released on attendance bail following an order from the Kathmandu District Government Attorney’s Office.

Prasai was arrested on Friday from Chalnakhel, Dakshinkali, while traveling from Kathmandu toward Birgunj, Parsa. In recent times, he has drawn attention for making controversial statements advocating “a Hindu kingdom first, elections later,” including remarks made in Chitwan on Magh 19, where tensions briefly arose after programs were held outside designated locations.
