Welcome to Slice of Science. We try to make science fun and enjoyable. Come, learn with us, one slice at a time !
Superconductivity is the phenomenon where certain materials conduct electricity with zero electrical resistance when cooled below a specific "critical temperature". It is also characterized by the expulsion of magnetic fields from the material, known as the Meissner effect. Meissner effect is the phenomenon where a material, as it transitions to the superconducting state, actively expels any magnetic field from its interior. This occurs when the material is cooled below its critical temperature and creates a repulsive force, allowing it to be used for magnetic levitation
