3 Ways To Power Up Arduino | Arduino Power Supply
#Arduino #PowerSupply #ArduinoUNO
In this video, I will talk about 3 ways to power up Arduino UNO. that are Power using USB Port, Power using DC barrel jack. and Power using Vin pin. But this is not the complete story. Each method has some limitations. and you must aware of these limitations, when you start powering your Arduino. and you must aware of, when you start powering your Arduino. otherwise, you components might be burnt.

DC JACK:
DC jack, itself, is a 2.1-millimeter plug. with the positive pin going to the central part of the jack. And it's important to use center positive plug.
When we connect wall wart power supply or connect a battery to DC jack. Then it powers up the five-volt regulator on the board. Regulator converts down the voltages to 5v dc and then the regulated 5v are fed to Arduino micro-controller. and this voltage regulator requires 6.2 volts to 20 volts as input. It is recommended to use voltages between, 7 volts, and 12 volts. The regulator can provide up to 1 amp of current.
VIN PIN:
The voltage requirement for the Vin pin is the same as with the DC jack. But the one thing. you must keep in mind. it does not have any reverse polarity protection. because there's no protection diode. So, Make sure that always connect the positive voltages to that Vin pin.
USB PORT:
It is directly connected to the voltage regulator’s output. You can power using USB port from your computer. Also, you can use 5v mobile charger, to power the Arduino. There is a current limitation of 500 milliamps. If your Arduino draws current more than 500 milliamps. Then there is a thermal self re-settable protection poly fuse that will get tripped. This protect USB port from damage. It is a very good feature, if you accidentally overdraw current.
