Milwaukee Life in the 1920s documentary
Made specific for the Chudnow Museum of Yesteryear in Milwaukee.
Milwaukee in the 1920s was the second densest city in America and the 12th largest with just short of half a million people. Following WWI, it was still a primarily German and Polish immigrant city but the necessity of war and patriotic fervor had toned down the language and culture to some extent. Also following the war, the industrial nature of the city was poised to shift to peace time production and prosperity for the city and its inhabitants. Daniel Hoan maintained the position of mayor of the city through this entire decade and continued to introduce more public works and public run organizations.
