DoorDash sent me to jail

Every delivery feels like a mission—sometimes a simple drop-off, other times a high-stakes emotional journey. Navigating the winding roads of Middletown, Delaware, delivering fast food and groceries to strangers’ doorsteps, I exist in a strange in-between space. It’s quiet in the car, but my mind is never still.

With borderline personality disorder, emotions hit harder. A delayed order or a rude customer can feel like a personal attack, even though I know it’s not. Some days, the five-star ratings lift me like a high; other days, silence from the app sends me spiraling into self-doubt.

But there’s a rhythm to the work that helps—pick up, drive, deliver, repeat. The structure keeps me grounded. The solitude is both a sanctuary and a battlefield. I’m alone with my thoughts, which can be dangerous, but I also have time to breathe, reflect, and reset between stops.

Driving through neighborhoods and seeing everyday life from the outside gives me perspective. I’m part of something, even if it’s just for a few minutes—a warm meal in someone’s hands, groceries to a tired parent, a late-night snack to a college kid.

Living with BPD while dashing around Middletown isn’t easy. But in every ping of a new order, there’s a small chance for progress, connection, and maybe even peace—even if just until the next drop-off. #doordash #ubereats #gigwork #gigeconomy #bpd #depression #bipolar #ridealong #dayinthelife #vlog #makethatmoney #work #middletown #delaware #facingmyfears #introvert #doingthebestican #iamwhoiam #progress #goals #thestruggleisreal #delivery
