I started following Lorraine Massey's Curly Girl Method not because I necessarily was chasing after the dream of movie star hair; I just wanted to stop hating my own so much. Fortunately or unfortunately, I think I got pretty good at achieving hair perfection--but I can't keep that standard up, realistically. So after 2 years of embracing and enhancing my natural texture, I've reached a point where I need to simplify my routine as much as possible--without necessarily sacrificing the 'look' I prefer, and instead being more accepting of a style that's slightly different. Here's where my mind is on the subject as I turn the corner into what I feel is the next phase of my own healthy hair (and mental sanity!) journey.
