Firman Tri-Fuel whole house Generator cost savings options

Costco Firman tri-fuel Generator can run the entire house on a budget. This Generator sells for $899.00 at Costco but we bought it on sale for $699.00 and ordered it from Costco.com. It was shipped right to our home or free.

I have never added gasoline to this generator because I did not want to contaminate it. I have operated it on natural gas and propane only and it works great.

I installed a 50 amp RV male plug into the side of my house with wiring into my panel. There is a 50 amp breaker in the panel with a generator interlock kit.

I purchased a 15 ft RV 50 amp whip to connect the generator to the house and a 10 ft natural gas flexible hose from Home Depot. I routed a 1/2 inch gas line inside the house with a shutoff inside and outside.

The interlocking system in the panel is expensive at $55.00 for a piece of metal but it will create a safe environment for your generator and house.

The generator comes with a GFI outlet and the propane regulator.

Here is the entire setup costs under $1,100.00.

Compare this to a whole house Generator like a Generac that requires permits, a transfer, switch, larger gas meter, and normally professional installation at a total cost of $8000.00, this system is smaller, but a great value.
