Algonquin Spring Solo - Ice Out Solo Canoeing in Algonquin Provincial Park

This Tumblehome Adventure footage has been sitting on the shelf for four years!
Shot in spring of 2016, this ice out solo on the west side of Algonquin Park was a much needed return to tripping, after suffering - what I believe to have been - some sort of viral or bacterial infection that left me fairly sick and doing not much physical activity for about 18 months. The sickness began in earnest on my Fall 2014 Big Trout trip, painful swelling in my knees and hands, fatigue etc. It went downhill from there and I had a pretty dreary year and a half, going from specialist to specialist, testing for everything and getting a myriad of muddy results. The search for answers continues.
Eventually most of the symptoms subsided.
With the physical side of things improving, this trip was just the restorative I needed to help with the mental side.
A quiet and triumphant return to the lakes.
