2021 Subaru Forester Turbo is Back! #shorts

Subaru Forester Turbo is back. Subaru is releasing the Forester Turbo again.
So do you miss the Forester XT with its turbocharged boxer engine?

The good news is that Subaru is bringing back the turbo for the Forester Sport. The bad news is that currently it’s only in Japan. Even though Subaru of America has not confirmed the Turbo engine for the Forester, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they bring it over to the US.

The Japan spec Forester Sport Turbo is a 1.8 liter boxer with 175 horsepower and 221 lb-feet of torque. This engine called the CB18 is a new design and shared with the Subaru Levorg which is sort of a Impreza wagon.
The horsepower number is pretty low and actually lower than the naturally aspirated 2.5 liter. But the torque is way higher with the turbo adding 45 lb-ft of twist and should provide improved response.

The Forester Sport Turbo is mated to a CVT and also gets a sportier suspension, black-painted grill and dark painted wheels.

Come on Subaru of America, bring that turbo and put it in the Forester and while you’re at it put it in the Crosstrek as well.
