@yourtake4761 host James Ewen talks to stand-up comedian, actress, professional coach and owner of the Aftermirth comedy club, @AngieBelcher.

Angie Belcher has performed at the Edinburgh Festival and Glastonbury and received glowing praise from fellow comedian, Phil Jupitus.

She’s an award-winning trainer and professional coach, teaching presentation skills to CEO’s and staff. She also runs comedy courses, teaching students’ skills to build their confidence, learn comedic writing devices and using comedy as a therapy for people’s wellbeing and mental health.

Angie has a master’s diploma in Humanistic Psychology for Facilitation, Leadership and Coaching. She also runs her own comedy club called Aftermirth, which caters for parents with babies.

In this 60-minute interview, I talk to Angie about her childhood and education. When she became interested in stand-up comedy and when she started performing in-front of live audiences. Her comedy influences. Angie's work as a professional coach and what made her decide to launch her own comedy courses. Talking in-depth about Angie's comedy courses and how they use comedy as a therapeutic device for people’s wellbeing and mental health. Discussing Angie's work with Bristol University and being a motivational speaker. Talking about the creative process and how Angie writes comedy material, gags and sketches. Angie's involvement with the Glastonbury Festival, where she has performed and compèred the festival’s Cabaret Tent on a number of occasions. Talking about the stand-up show Mythical Creature, which won critical acclaim when it was performed at the Edinburgh Festival. Establishing her own stand-up comedy club called Aftermirth, which runs during the day and is aimed at parents with babies.
