Special Report: Eating disorder services under 'constant pressure' after COVID lockdown
Sky News has witnessed the devastating effects lockdown has had on the mental health of some children and young people.
Correspondent Nick Martin was given access to a children’s mental health unit where he spoke to those dealing with eating disorders – and the staff trying to save their lives.
This report discusses the effects and impacts of eating disorders and mental ill health, including references to and images of self-harm suicide and ligatures.
If you have been impacted by any of the issues from this report, you’re not alone – help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the Samaritans. You can call them for free on 116 123. And the eating disorder charity BEAT, is also available – free – on 0808 801 0677 and at https://www.beateatingdisorders.org.uk/.
