Hey, we made it.

There’s so many different levels of “made it” but I really feel so content, and grateful, for where I am. From leaving home at 14, to being a college drop out, to a married father of two. I look at the kindness in my children and feel so much joy and pride from that. And I think of all the delusional nights I had believing in a really wild dream. That I can make this world feel a little more like home for people. That was the goal of 1924us when it started in 2011, and it’s the goal today.

There are stories my young self might have for me that I don’t even remember, the good and the bad I left behind so that I could be who I am now. And he’s still here with me, what a cool feeling we get to succeed together.

Still, it all feels so surreal. From winning a poetry contest at 8, to being a worldwide published author with Penguin books in just a few short days. Over 100,000 copies have sold already and it hasn’t hit a single shelf. Thank you! Truly thank you.
