Harzquerbahn Ride: Nordhausen to Ilfeld

A Ride on the metre-gauge Harzquerbahn in the German Harz Mountains, with 2-10-2T No 99 7245-6. We start at the most Southerly station in the Harz system, at Nordhausen. From here the line heads northwards through the Nordhausen suburbs over relatively low-lying land on a section of line shared with diesel-electric Nordhausen trams. We finish at Ilfeld as the hills start to close in & the gradients steepen. 5th July 2010.
