It's narrowing down to a choice between a no deal Brexit, or revoking the Article 50 letter and remaining locked into the EU forever.

There is talk in the press that the prime Minister, Boris Johnson, is gearing up for a ten day blitz to get some sort of Brexit deal through parliament before Brexit Day on the 31st of October, while Remain MPs are now plotting to force the government to revoke the Article 50 letter prior to that Hallowe'en deadline.

Boris Johnson has vowed that he will break the UK free from the EU by the 31st of October and said he is braced for the mother of all battles against Remainer MPs intent on revoking the Article 50 letter.

It is reported that he will be telling Brussels in no uncertain terms tomorrow that the UK will leave on the 31st of October.

According to the Sun he will say:

"There should be no doubt about my determination to take us out on October the 31st.

"I will not ask for an extension. I absolutely believe that our friends in Europe want an orderly exit so now is the time for serious talks."

And talking to the Mail on Sunday, Boris said that the UK will break out of the EU shackles like the Hulk.

"The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets," he said.

So I personally think that any plans for a long drawn out but one-sided legislative battle by Remainer MPs towards a second EU referendum will be dropped, in favour of a bludgeoning revoke the Article 50 letter attack in the final days of October.

It would be the legislature continuing to try and act as the executive with Prime Minister Bercow at its head.

So I think that when the currently prorogued parliament reconvenes on the 14th of October, or earlier should the Supreme Court somehow rule the prorogation unlawful next week, the Remainer MPs will then vote any Queen's speech down and out of the way as quickly as possible, brush aside any talk of deals with Brussels then start their emergency debate antics again to push for revocation of the Article 50 letter.

Anyway, any deal Boris does forge with the EU will need a number of substantive votes in the Commons that the Remainer MPs will just amend to say - Revoke Article 50. As far as I can see, the deal is a now dead end option.

And the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow, will give the Remainers all the time, opportunity and the procedural 'assistance' they need.

There will be votes against any deal, there won't be any votes of no confidence, no votes for a general election, just votes to revoke - together with the continued gushing of Project Fear propaganda.

They might not even bother with forcing the PM to send that Article 50 extension letter, unless they feel they need more time to try and win the nation over to their revoke strategy.

And they will relish the thought of Boris being sat in Number Ten when the letter is sent, either by him or more likely on his behalf under a court order or otherwise.

That's what it sounds like they want to see happen anyway.

And if that were achieved, then would come the excuses that this is far too complex and difficult a time for a General Election. We must stay in place, they will say, to heal the nation etc etc etc, when what they mean is they need time to shut the whole Brexiteer movement down before chancing a General Election.

That's when the push for a government of national unity would be made using the same MPs that occupy the House of Commons today.

Then I dread to think what could come next, as they do their best to silence any pro-Brexit dissent across the country. It would not be pleasant.

Especially as I think some of them would actually welcome a bit of over the top robust protest that they can then condemn the Brexiteers for, then shut them down via the courts or worse.

The Remainers would be relying on being able to control the most active of Brexiteers, while the silent majority just accept it and get on with their new lives as part of the new European Union superstate.
