Loss of biodiversity: and now, what we do? – 22/11/2022
UNESCO Campus series: Biodiversity
How can we engage with biodiversity conservation? How can we preserve biodiversity? Today, the protection of biodiversity is an emergency that concerns all of us, and in order to act on the protection of biodiversity, we must first understand the main causes of this decline.
This session has been moderated by the journalist Barbara Umuhoza, with the participation of:

UNESCO’s work for biodiversity.

Dr Grey Coupland, Research Fellow at the Harry Butler Institute, Murdoch University
Biodiversity of seagrass and mangrove.

Laura Curtis-Moss, People and Projects Manager of the East Ayrshire Coalfield Environment Initiative
Impact and work done with local communities to avoid the loss of biodiversity.

3 middle and high schools from 3 different countries:

The French International School of Riyad in Riyad, Saudi Arabia Ghana, represented by Malika Hafidi, English teacher, and her 10th grade students. Aya and Jad are the two spokespersons.

The French International School of Reus in Reus - Spain, represented by Elizabeth Presland, English teacher and her 9th grade class. Pablo and Luis are the two spokespersons.

The Eridan International School in Montpellier - France, represented by Sami Habib, life and earth sciences teacher, and his 10th grade students. Their two spokespersons are Dante and Olesya.

The Koç School in Tuzla – Istanbul, Turkey whose students followed the Campus asking their questions by chat.
