Tokelau Fakaofo

Fakaofo atoll is twofold exceptional. First of all a huge solar array constructed in 2015 provides all the island's electricity. Besides they took up the fight with the elements of the nature. They have constucted a four-meter-seawall , thus they can protect themselves from floodings caused by cyclones and sealevel rise.
During our stay we could witness merely the Gabion wall, it was amazing!
I am very much obliged to Afega Gaualofa, who made our stay pleasant and confortable, as well as helped a lot to get familiar with the way of life on Fakaofo atoll.
