The Birth Of A Bowie Knife PART 3 (Engraving and Finishing)

We finally finished this amazing bowie knife!
After 1 month of work we are happy to show you the finished piece.
The frame handle contruction was done because of the engraving. Engraving the san mai steel itself would result in a significant downgrading of the engraving. The fine cuts just look a lot cleaner in a softer material as we used for the frame, spacer and guard.
We worked in 24 karat gold in all three pieces of the handle. And the fittings were also gun blued with super blue and brass black.
The pins of the frame are from nickle silver.
The handle material came out amazing. It is stabalized curled birchwood. We got it form Stefan Krumböck. He has/creates gorgous handle materials. Go check him out on instagram @stefanburns31.
The san mai billet from which we forged the blade was forge welded by Martin Huber from @martinhuber_knives. Also a great material to work. Check him out as well!
