There is SO MUCH going on beneath the surface of this issue that I didn't even fully delve into in this -- including traumas resulting from international adoption, patterns related to the white savior complex (white people adopting POC to make themselves look good publicly: seems to be what Myka & James did) and issues with human trafficking that often happen within international adoption. This is an incredibly sad situation from so many angles. I'm sick.
