2015-01-30 Building a large scale vacuum veneering press

Bob Brokaw shares the design and construction of a large scale cycling vacuum system used to apply veneer to larger panels in furniture construction. A friend requested that I construct a cycling vacuum system capable of operating a large vacuum bag that may contain large or irregularly shaped objects being veneered. The answer to this was constructing a system that would use large vacuum reservoirs to get the excess air out of the vacuum bag in a hurry to get uniform pressure on the glue-up before it started to dry.
