Sweet harvest | Oxbo 2475 corn picker | Organic sweet corn harvest 2017

No self propelled forage harvester this time but something altogether different in the maize! We find a brand new Oxbo 2475 sweet corn harvester at work in a crop of organic sweet corn in Ens, the Netherlands. The machine is owned by specialist contractor Breure from Swifterbant.

The 2475 model from American manufacturer Oxbo can be used with a 3630F 6 row maize head to pick sweet corn or a tine pick-up for harvesting green (french) beans. The articulated machine is based on the Super Jack harvester. It has a 275 HP John Deere 9L engine and John Deere cab. The tipping hopper has a capacity of 15m³ and can lift 6.350 kg.

Whilst the crop is being harvested the farmer is incorporating the stalks and left overs into the soil using a brand new Massey Ferguson 6715 S Dyna-VT pocket rocket with a Dragone flail mower, Evers subsoiler and Skyros disc harrow. This combination is owned by organic farmer Zonnegoed VOF Ens.
