Easy How to Make A Lariat Necklace - DIY Jewelry Tutorial Hack For Beginners

In this Youtube #shorts, I will show you the easiest way to make a lariat necklace in under 5 minutes!

A lariat necklace has no closure clasp and works much like a scarf.

Take a long chain - most chains will work and if it is a box or snake chain you hope to use, and the links are too small for jump rings, it is easiest to use a finished chain and simply remove the clasp.

On either side of the chain, add your drops, any drops and you can certainly add more than one on each side.

Take both ends of the chains together (they do not have to be at matching length), and do a hitch knot.

Tip: it is best to have the chain longer than 24" (60cm) because the hitch knot takes up length and the thing that holds it together is the weight of the drops, so if the drop chain is longer, it is more secure.

If it is a slippery chain, like a snake chain, you will need the chain to be longer for this to work, whereas chains that are faceted or grippier, like rolo or flat cable chain, you don't need as much length because the tension of links against one another will cause the knot to stay.
