Unveiling the Core of the Mixing Process
UHPC premix primarily consists of cement, silica fume, fine sand, ultrafine mineral admixtures, and steel fiber. These raw materials must be gradually added and thoroughly mixed in the mixer to ensure uniformity and stability of the final mixture.
Choosing the right mixer is crucial for UHPC production. Planetary concrete mixers ensure thorough mixing of the raw materials. The mixing process requires precise control of mixing time and speed (typically around 5-10 minutes). Excessive mixing time can lead to reduced homogeneity, while excessively fast or slow mixing speeds can also affect mixture quality.
The Importance of Expansion Testing
Expansion testing is a crucial tool for evaluating the workability of UHPC. Conventional expansion testing is insufficient to fully reflect the workability of UHPC and must be supplemented with rheological testing. Tests have shown that the expansion of UHPC can reach more than 600mm.
