The Girl I Left Behind Me

A setting of The Girl I Left Behind Me for the banjo I made after hearing John Hartford's version.

The tuning is standard G (gDGBD), tuned down three half steps (eBEG#B). I have steel strings on this banjo. I tried to follow the John Hartford style by using heavier gauge strings and a wound G string. The setting primarily uses the two-fingered style, but I have thrown in one three-finger roll to get closer to John Hartford's version.
