I've been talking about addressing the root causes of not falling pregnant or not being able to hold onto your pregnancy lately, but I realised that I could share more about what kind of root causes I look into with my patients. Finding out the root causes of fertility problems is important for ALL of my patients.

Yes, it's super important for those that have gotten the diagnosis unexplained infertility because you need to know the factors that are impacting your fertility negatively to DO something about them.

However, it's equally important for those that already know why they haven't been able to fall pregnant, or have a diagnosis that is known to make it harder. Just because you have a PCOS diagnosis, or a low sperm count, doesn't mean those are the only issues affecting your fertility. It also doesn't mean there aren't other things you can address in your health, to boost your overall chance of falling pregnant sooner and with a healthy baby.

Fertility treatment requires that you get a full case scan of the both of you, so that you can improve ALL the factors that are weighing down your fertility.

That means, that when I talk to my PCOS patients, I also talk to their husbands and about their family histories, even when he says he hasn't got any health issues (lol I always find something that can be better!).
