DASHBOARD FOR HOSPITAL UTILIZATION IN NIGERIA FOR 2023

I worked on this Healthcare Analytics Dashboard some time ago and decided it was worth sharing now because the insights are still very relevant.

The project was built using Nigeria’s 2023 Public Hospital Utilization Data, with the goal of turning raw hospital records into clear insights that can support better decisions in the healthcare sector.

The dataset covered patient admissions, discharges, mortality rates, hospital workload, and state-by-state performance across public hospitals in Nigeria.

Some key findings stood out. Rivers State had the highest patient traffic, showing pressure on facilities like UPTH. Oyo State recorded the highest mortality concerns, highlighting areas where urgent intervention may be needed. Lagos State stood out with zero deaths in the dataset.

To make the dashboard more practical and user-friendly, I added interactive slicers that allow users to filter performance by state, month, or any selected date. This makes it easier to compare results, monitor trends, and focus on specific areas quickly.

Projects like this remind me that data is not just numbers on a sheet. When properly analyzed, it can reveal problems, guide smarter decisions, and improve outcomes.
