The race kicked off with a furious pace at high noon, and the initial uphill section, filled with rugged rocks, posed a formidable challenge. Billy Bolt encountered a massive crash early on, forcing him to play catch-up and spend the first 20 minutes making up ground on the leading KTM duo.

In the past, riders could navigate most sections of the course on foot, but these days, the toughest segments are strategically taped off, eliminating any advantage gained from scouting lines or kicking rocks. As the race unfolded, Bolt found himself leading Lettenbichler just over the one-hour mark, with Jonny Walker surging ahead of Trystan Hart and Wade Young securing the fifth spot. Meanwhile, Teo Kabakchiev, Cody Webb, Dominik Olszowy, Alfredo Gomez, Michael Walkner, and the enigmatic Graham Jarvis were hot on their heels, eager to make their mark despite starting from the second row.

Bolt showcased his prowess in the treacherous Carl's Dinner rock section, stretching his lead. However, as the race transitioned to the dirt trails amidst lush greenery and towering trees along the Motorex Highway, Lettenbichler launched a remarkable comeback, closing the gap and getting back on Bolt's tail. In an intense battle, Lettenbichler managed to regain the lead, showcasing his sheer determination and skill.

From that point onwards, Lettenbichler maintained an unrelenting pace, ultimately emerging as the undisputed champion, with a total race time of 2 hours, 31 minutes, and 15 seconds—almost 30 minutes faster than the previous year's record. Reflecting on his victory, Lettenbichler was at a loss for words, overwhelmed by the sizeable gap he created towards the end.

Bolt, despite facing obstacles along the way, finished an impressive 11 minutes behind Lettenbichler, securing the second spot on the podium. He attributed his progress hindrance in the final hills to a dent in his exhaust pipe but was satisfied with achieving his best-ever finish at the Erzbergrodeo.

Trystan Hart, after battling through the grueling course, claimed the third podium position, showcasing unwavering resilience and determination. Jonny Walker, a three-time champion, made a triumphant comeback to the Iron Giant, securing a stellar fourth place and earning recognition as the top "privateer" rider among the factory-backed competitors. Wade Young, representing Sherco, had better luck this time, clinching the fifth position and proving his mettle.

Further down the rankings, the experienced Graham Jarvis displayed his unmatched technique, securing an impressive sixth place despite starting from the second row. The race was filled with intense battles, as Michael Walkner, Alfredo Gomez, Teo Kabakchiev, Cody Webb, and Matty Green fought tooth and nail for their respective positions. Notably, Matty Green emerged as the Junior prize winner, showcasing his promising talent and potential.

Rounding out the roster of the last official finishers were Sonny Goggia, Dominik Olszowy, Jack Price, and Dan Peace.
