Delicious Apple Cake - Sharlotka
Today, let's make a delicious fluffy apple cake called Sharlotka. It's really good and, surprisingly, you will only need a few ingredients:
- 4 eggs
- 3 medium apples
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1.5 cup of flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
1. Beat the eggs with a mixer until you see little bubbles.
2. Gradually add sugar, as you continue beating the eggs at a high speed. The egg and sugar mixing process should take about 5 minutes until the mix becomes light and almost fluffy.
You will know if the mix is ready by drawing a line with your mixer whisk. If the line stays for 1-2 seconds it’s ready. If it disappears right away, whisk it for a little longer.
3. Sift your flower and add it to the mix, also add the baking powder and mix it with the flour first.
4. Give everything a light mix with your spoon, so that the flour doesn’t spread all over when you start whisking again with your mixer.
5. Make sure to use lower speed on your mixer so the batter doesn’t become too stiff.
At the end you should get a pancake batter like consistency batter.
6. Peel the apples, cut them in half and remove the core.
7. Dice the apples
8. Add the diced apples in the batter.
9. Mix everything thoroughly with a big spoon.
10. Preheat your oven to 370 degrees Farenheit.
11. Grease your baking form with a piece of butter.
12. Transfer the cake batter in the form.
13. Bake the cake in the oven for 45 minutes. Do not open the oven at least for the first half an hour.
14. When the time’s up, take the cake out and do a toothpick test to make sure it’s done inside.
15. You can cut it right away or let it cool for 5 minutes.
16. Serve it with some tea or coffee and enjoy!
