Ka'au Crater Trail, Hawaii

This was a great hike and one I would recommend doing if you are in the area and are up for an adventure. We ended up doing 8 total miles, most of which was very slick, steep, and very muddy. I would definitely recommend wearing boots and pants on this trail. It seemed that during our time in Hawaii morning showers were pretty common so be prepared for a very muddy trail. Also keep in mind that there are some sections of waterfalls that are steep and very slick so watch where you put your feet. Also I would suggest doing this hike with a partner as things could go south very fast.
