It's been 5 years since "Love on the Brain" was uploaded to YouTube. (It's crazy that 2 of those 5 years were the pandemic!)

I retaught the routine 5 years later to bring it full circle. This is my solo done alone in the studio so I could be maskless during this pandemic!

🗣 What differences do you see from 2017 vs 2022?
For me, I feel much more settled now in 2022, but much less strong physically. This routine is INCREDIBLY hard on the stamina if you haven't been dancing consistently (which I have not!).

There are pros and cons to aging as a dancer, but one thing I really push in The Galen Hooks Method intensives is to treat your body as your material. It is your clay, your paint, and it is so unique that a dancer's material changes as they age (unlike clay or paint).

And so, I'm totally fine with what my material can do at this point in my life! While I might not have the strength I used to, I enjoy other things that have developed over the years.
