Does tarp camping work in winter? Week on ski's with Papa hiker, camping wild in deep snow.

Tarp camping in deep snow and serious winter conditions. Not something an unexperienced person should do solo. But Papa hiker ignored all warnings and went ultralight, solo, long distance, camping wild, with a dd tarp. Well, it turned out great, although there were some serious learning moments.
I skied cross country, on 60 mm wide Asnes ski's, around 120 km from Grua, a small trainstation in south Norway, to Hokksund, a city further south and to the west. To reduce risk and match the trip to my skill level I stayed mostly on prepared tracks, some on unprepared track, and some off track skiing. Temperatures ranged from -16C at night to just below freezing point on the last day. For ground sheet I used the DD superlight S tarp. I also used that as a shelter once and the bigger tarp as ground sheet. It was a completely new and sobering experience to camp in very deep snow, but you pick up tricks very quickly. I modified Dynafit race ready skins to fit any ski, just using a piece of string and that worked out very well.
