In this Watch Your Style review, Eric Rivera focuses on a popular timepiece from the Richard Mille luxury brand, the RM 011 Felipe Massa, named after the Brazilian Formula One racing driver.

Engineered with the same dynamic look as a Formula One machine, the Felipe Massa towers above the competition with its impressive design. It's no doubt that when the watch was released, Richard Mille's slogan was “a racing machine on the wrist.”

Even though the Richard Mille brand is relatively new in the Swiss luxury watch market, the company's watches have become more and more popular due to the high degree of sophistication and engineering that go into them. This also holds true for the RM11, which we consider to be one of the ultimate models in the luxury sports watch market.

The RM 11 sports a square Tonneau design and, due to its curved shape, fits very comfortably on the wrist – like a glove.

Even though the RM 011 is very popular in the high end market, there are a few things about it that can be improved.

The first one is the calendar function, which is a bit challenging to make out with the human eye. As Eric suggests in the video, if the company would have used a bit more color (possibly white for additional contrast), the date would have been more visible and easier to read.

The other feature are that could use improvement is the spring loaded clasp. Even though once the clasp locks, the watch fits comfortably on the wrist, it might be a bit challenging to put on at firs. As a result, if you buy the watch for the first time, it might take a bit of practice to master the spring loaded mechanism.

The last thing that Richard Mille can improve going forward on the RM11 is the box. Possibly using a nicer carbon fiber box would increase the overall aesthetic appeal of the entire package. However, the box should not be a deal breaker for anyone interesting in buying the Felipe Massa timepiece.

Even though a pre-owned, like-new version of the RM 11 can probably be obtained for 89,000 USD and up, the watch is becoming more and more difficult to find. More and more watch connoisseurs are flocking to the Richard Mille brand and holding on to their watches for a longer period of time. This, combined with a limited supply of watches continue to make the RM more of an exclusive and in-demand horological masterpiece.

The RM 011 has a nice chronograph and size to it, making it our favorite watch in the sports watch category.
