As of May 13, GA4 added a dedicated "AI Assistant" channel in your Default Channel Group reports.

Here's what changed: any visit from a recognized AI assistant gets tagged automatically.

The medium becomes "ai-assistant", the channel group is "AI Assistant", and the campaign shows up as "(ai-assistant)".

So you can finally see how people discover you through chatbots, which AI sources are trending, and how that traffic stacks up against organic search.
