In this embroidery tutorial, I show how to work Long Seed Stitch — a decorative textured filling stitch made with elongated stitches about 5 mm long.

First, I demonstrate the technique on a small embroidered heart. Then I show how I used this stitch in another heart embroidery combined with raised cotton padding made with polyester fiberfill to create additional texture and dimension.
