How to cast inexpensive lead scuba diving weights

In this video we try our hand at casting scuba diving weights out of lead. Dive weights can cost up to $6 per pound. We were able to obtain lead for $1 a pound from our local scrap yard. A few hours later we had enough weight for 3 divers.

Make sure you thoroughly dry everything that will come in contact with the hot lead. Also make sure the lead is dry prior to heating it up.

After you have poured all the weights you may wish to coat them with plastidip or paint.
