What Are Kazbek Hops? | The Hop Chronicles

Kazbek hops - named after a dormant volcano - were developed in the Czech Republic and are considered something of Super Saaz. Bringing aromas of citrus, sweet fruits, and berries, Martin was curious to learn what a beer brewed with only Kazbek hops would taste like. To find out, he brewed a pale lager with Kazbek added as the bittering, flavor, and aroma additions. Then he served the beer to tasters for evaluation to determine what qualities Kazbek hops impart to a a pale lager.
