The Making of: RADICAL RAT (a Global Game Jam 2021 entry)

Welcome to the devlog for Radical Rat: Rocket Returns! This video covers the entire process of making a video game from scratch in one week for the Global Game Jam 2021. I teamed up with my friend Jessie to make a silly game about a skateboarding rat who returns a lost phone from the sewer. It's a pixel art upgrade game much like many old flash games you'd find on Newgrounds, Kongregate, Addicting Games and more.

Every asset (all audio, visuals, code, etc) for the game was made from scratch by either Jessie or me. The Global Game Jam is a great event that takes place every January, and I'd encourage anyone and everyone to participate sometime!
