If you aren’t that into women basketball, you may think that Las Vegas Aces is quite a young team. It got the current name in 2018, but the team has much longer history. It was formed in 1997 in Salt Lake City as Utah Starzz. In 2003 the team moved to San Antonio and was renamed to San Antonio Silver Stars then cutting their name to San Antonio Stars in 2014. And before 2018 WNBA season the team moved to Las Vegas and got its current name.

The franchise is owned by Mark Davis, an American businessman who also owns Las Vegas Raiders of the NFL. The team has been quite successful.
