2015 semi-finals of the Kerry Agribusiness Irish St Leger

The semi-finals of the Kerry Agribusiness Irish St Leger were run at Limerick on Saturday night and the winners were Peregrine Falcon and Skywalker Rory with the latter producing slightly the best time on the night.

Pat O’Brien’s Irish Derby finalist Peregrine Falcon (Ace Hi Rumble/ Minefield) bounced back from the previous week’s defeat with a convincing victory in the first semi-final. As is his style, Peregrine Falcon was fast into stride and he led up from Sidarian Vega and Jaytee Valencia.
Sidarian Vega was a close second down the back but Peregrine Falcon began to ease clear around the bottom and he went on to win in 29.70. Jaytee Valencia was a three length second with Sidarian Vega just a neck back in third.
From a pretty level break in the second semi, the Pat Guilfoyle trained Skywalker Rory (Skywalker Puma/ Tarsna Sal) edged ahead on the run to the bend and cleared the corner from Black Tom and Painstown Chief. Tyrur Tommy moved second as they came off the second bend and he closed menacingly to the third bend.
At this point, however, the Ray Patterson owned Skywalker closed the door and that was that! From here Skywalker Rory raced away to win by five lengths from Tyrur Tommy in 29.63 with Offshore Bound some two lengths third.
