Building a Gibson Les Paul – Step 7: Finishing up the necks, gluing nut!

Follow along as our CEO Cesar Gueikian builds a new Les Paul from start to finish with the help of our Master Luthier Jim DeCola and our incredible craftsmen and women.

In Episode 7 of 12 of The Process: Building CEO 1 & Master Luthier 1, Cesar and Jim DeCola are finishing up the necks ready for assemby with the guitar! And there will be a lot of it!

In this 12-part series, Gibson CEO Cesar Gueikian build a brand new Les Paul from scratch. With Master Luthier Jim DeCola and our incredible craftsmen and women at the Gibson craftory, Cesar and Jim will take you through the art and science of building one of the most iconic guitars in the world, with a few customizations!

From selecting the top to binding, sanding and finishing, we’ll take you through the entire process of building the CEO 1. Along the way you’ll get to see the craftsmanship, tradition and innovation that makes Gibson guitars legendary.

Step 11: It's finally time for color! This top really came to life under this purple stain and Jim DeCola mastered his tortoise shell inspired look!
