Mamas and The Papas I Call Your Name, Monday Monday at Monterey Pop Festival 1967 HQ

The Mamas and The Papas introduction of band members Denny Doherty, "Mama" Cass Elliot, John Phillips and Michelle Phillips is in-between their (improved) performance of I Call Your Name and Monday, Monday (4:38). The Sixties rock vocal quartet was live at (enhanced outtakes) Monterey Pop Festival, Monterey, CA in June 1967.

The Mamas and The Papas version of "I Call Your Name" is the most popular cover. The song was written by Lennon-McCartney and originally recorded for The Beatles' Second Album in 1964.

In 1966, the third and final single from the album, "Monday, Monday" became The Mamas and The Papas only number-one hit in the US. Monday, Monday won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in 1967. The song was also nominated for Best Performance by a Vocal Group, Best Contemporary Song, and Record of the Year.

John (died 2001) and Michelle Phillips' 50-year old daughter Chynna Phillips became successful as a founding member of Wilson Phillips.
