Beach walk | Cala S'Almonia | Mallorca | August 2021

Pack light as to reach the cala you'll need to go down a steep set of stairs, a total of 120 steps. At the bottom, head right along the rocky ridge. Some people prefer to lay down on the flat, eroded areas of rock and jump in from the sides. It's certainly deep enough, although I recommend water shoes to make scrambling out kinder on your feet.

There is a small makeshift car park nearby. Don't park on the yellow line as traffic police do pass by and will give you a ticket!

.Setting & Location
Cala S'Almonia belongs to the southern municipality of Santanyí, which preserves the most extensive virgin coastline in the island. From this cove, it's possible to walk along the coastline to the light house at Cap de Ses Salines. It's about 8 kilometres long and takes approximately 3 hours. The route takes you passed the prehistoric village of Ses Talaies de Bauç as well as some spectacular calas such as Calò des Màrmols. It really is a stunning part of the island and well worth a visit.

Water Safety & Clarity
There are no facilities or lifeguards here. The small area of sand makes it less ideal for younger children, but will be fun for confident swimmers.

Watersports
A visit to the adjacent cala, Calò des Moro, is a must. It's only a five minute walk away and it's truly stunning. However, being smaller it does tend to get busy. Cala S'Almonia is more spacious and as long as you don't mind rocks, it's somewhere you could spend the day.
